Project Description
JP updated NAVFAC’s Sound Insulation Guidelines, including the development of the Sound Insulation Estimator, an online tool designed to help homeowners choose appropriate sound-insulating materials for their homes. The Estimator calculates recommended upgrades based on user input and provides estimated materials and labor costs to achieve the desired noise reduction. As a sub-consultant, JP led the design, development, and implementation of this cost-estimating application.
The NAVFAC Guidelines offer practical, cost-effective sound insulation techniques for individuals living near military airfields, addressing both existing homes and new construction to mitigate noise impacts.
