Residential sound insulation program
Jones Payne served as a consultant to the Massachusetts Port Authority’s Residential Sound Insulation Program since its inception in 1984. Beginning with the initial 4-house pilot project, the program has evolved into one of the nation’s most successful, multi-year, large-scale sound insulation programs. By mid-year 2002, Jones Payne completed sound insulation on over 9,500 dwelling units within the communities surrounding Logan International Airport. Total construction costs reached over $144 million, representing over 120 separate bid packages. Change orders amounted to less than 3 percent of the total construction costs.
