San Diego International Airport’s Quieter Home Program Receives Largest Federal Grant in Program History
SAN DIEGO, CA, September 11, 2020 – San Diego International Airport’s (Airport) Quieter Home Program (QHP) recently got a big boost from the US Department of Transportation. The QHP will receive more than $18 million to reduce interior noise levels inside eligible homes located near the Airport. The grant is the largest in QHP’s nearly 20-year history, and is part of a $1.2 billion government initiative awarded through the Federal Aviation Administration that will fund construction and rehabilitation projects at more than 400 airports across the country.
Since 2006, Jones Payne has served as QHP’s lead consultant, providing comprehensive noise mitigation services. The QHP is one of the largest remaining airport residential sound insulation programs in the nation.
