Maryland Aviation Administration Increases Online Presence for its Noise Mitigation Program
BALTIMORE, Md., November 29, 2021 – The Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA) has launched a website for its Residential Sound Insulation Program (RSIP). Interested community members can now access program information online. The website provides a detailed overview of the sound insulation process. As Prime Consultant for the MAA RSIP, Jones Payne provided technical content.
The MAA RSIP was created to reduce interior noise levels inside eligible single- and multi-family homes located near Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. Currently, there are 136 single-family and 328 multi-family homes potentially eligible for sound insulation. Jones Payne is leading outreach efforts to 72 single-family homes for Phase 1. The RSIP team has implemented a hybrid outreach approach: invited homeowners can now choose to attend a virtual or in-person program meeting. The virtual meeting option is being offered to address homeowners’ COVID-19 concerns. It also provides a convenience to homeowners and increases efficiency for staff.
