Jones Payne Leads Efforts to Reduce Noise at Joint-Use Airports
Westfield, MA, August 26, 2020 – The Westfield Airport Commission selects Jones Payne to manage the implementation of its Noise Mitigation Program (NMP) at Westfield-Barnes Regional Airport (BAF). BAF is a joint civil-military airport, home to the Massachusetts Air National Guard.
Serving as program manager, Jones Payne will lead a team of experts to provide program management services, architectural and engineering analysis, planning, design, construction administration, and Federal grant support services. Major components of BAF’s NMP include development of a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) required Land Use Reuse Plan, updating the Part 150 Noise and Land Use Compatibility Study, and shifting its focus from land acquisition to sound insulation.
Jones Payne helps airports be good neighbors to the communities they serve and good stewards of the facilities they operate. This selection marks the 3rd civil-military airport that Jones Payne represents and solidifies the firm as the national leader, dedicated to aviation noise reduction at joint-use airports.
