JP worked in collaboration with Warwick Public Schools under contract with the Rhode Island Airport Corporation to provide building envelope and ventilation improvements to the John Brown Francis Elementary School in Warwick, Rhode Island. JP prepared a feasibility study to determine to how to improve the interior environmental quality of the school due to its proximity to T.F. Green Airport. The study, which focused on noise intrusion and fresh-air ventilation, was used to successfully secure funding from the FAA and resulted in improving the quality of the classroom environment for teachers and students.
John Brown Francis Elementary School is a one-story building, which was built in 1952. It has has seen two additions since it was first constructed.
