The Greater Baton Rouge Airport District (District) hired JP to sound insulate Church of God in Christ in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The project was part of the District’s Sound Reduction Program, which was created to reduce noise levels inside schools, churches and community centers impacted by airport operations at the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport. As project architect, JP worked with the District and church leaders, providing architecture, design, and construction administration services.
The church complex, comprised of the Sanctuary, Fellowship Hall and Prayer Garden, is located on a 36-acre site southeast of the Airport. The Sanctuary contains the main worship assembly space; the Fellowship Hall includes classrooms, guest rooms for congregation members, and offices; and the Prayer Garden is a conference center that seats up to 1,200 people.
