The Greater Baton Rouge Airport District (District) hired JP to sound insulate Brownsfields Elementary School in East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana. The project was part of the District’s Sound Reduction Program, which was created to reduce noise levels inside schools, churches and community centers impacted by airport operations at the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport. As project architect, JP worked with East Baton Rouge Parish Public Schools to provide comprehensive architectural services, including window and door design, HVAC upgrades, ceiling treatments, and ADA improvements.
The elementary school complex consisted of 26 classrooms and 3 portable classrooms located in 5 separate wings, in addition to the main building containing administrative offices, a computer lab, cafeteria, and a library.
