SAN FRANCISCO, CA, January 28, 2021 – San Francisco International Airport (SFO) recently announced it has budgeted $16M to fund its Noise Insulation Program (NIP) through 2023. The Airport will use the money to provide acoustical improvements to qualifying residential properties that meet certain eligibility requirements.
The SFO NIP has two main components:
SFO’s NIP, which began in 1983, has evolved into one of the most extensive residential sound insulation programs in the nation. More than 15,200 properties have been treated in Daly City, Millbrae, Pacifica, San Bruno, South San Francisco, and unincorporated areas of San Mateo County.
Since 2017, Jones Payne has worked as the prime consultant on a team, providing services to support SFO’s NIP. These services include homeowner outreach, acoustical testing, mechanical and electrical (M&E), hazmat, architectural design, as well as project management services to include long- and short-term project scheduling and budgeting, grant creation and management assistance.
