The Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) is a quasi-public corporation that is empowered to undertake the planning, development, management, acquisition, ownership, operations, repair, construction, improvement, maintenance, sale, lease or other disposition of any of the six airports under its jurisdiction.  These airports include: T.F. Green Airport, Warwick; North Central Airport, Smithfield; Quonset Airport, North Kingstown; Westerly Airport, Westerly; Newport Airport, Newport; Block Island Airport, Block Island. RIAC has a longstanding commitment to minimizing the effect of aircraft noise on the community. RIAC has assisted neighbors in the Warwick community with noise concerns through an extensive sound mitigation program dating back to 1991.  Currently a voluntary sound mitigation effort is underway for residential properties which are eligible for treatment under Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidelines.
