Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative
Implementing WeaverPRM™ for Property Inventory and Workflow
Overview:
Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative (DSNI) and its land trust Dudley
Neighbors Incorporated (DNI), one of the most well respected community land
trusts in the US, found it increasingly difficult to manage all their data
in spreadsheets, databases, and files. In an effort to streamline and
consolidate both their property inventory and homeowner information, they
implemented WeaverPRM resulting in better tracking, workflow, and
communication, which allowed them more time to concentrate on building their
community.
Managing Multiple Data Sources
Like most community land trusts, Dudley Neighbors Incorporated focused
time and resources on serving the community with information management
being a secondary concern. DNI stored data in a variety of flat spreadsheet
files, some access databases, and many file cabinets. While each piece of
the puzzle worked to hold data, anyone needing information also needed to
know where to find it. In addition, using all of these disparate methods
made connecting information from one file to another time consuming.
How WeaverPRM Helps
"We chose WeaverPRM for its ability to inventory our properties and track
workflow, projects, grants, and construction," said Jason Webb, director of
Dudley Neighbors Inc. at DSNI. "In addition, the system has greatly enhanced
our ability to track communication with homeowners and create reports for
our different constituents, including our board of directors, foundations,
and homeowners."
Implementation and Ongoing Development
Jones Payne converted and imported all of DNI’s data directly into
WeaverPRM, simplifying the transition and minimizing the burden on DNI’s
resources.
DNI and The Jones Payne Group have created a close working relationship that
makes continuing development on WeaverPRM possible, from making small
adjustments to adding on entirely new modules that meet DNI’s needs.
DNI now uses WeaverPRM as a tool to save time and increase efficiency in
managing inventory, workflow, and communication. As a result, WeaverPRM has
allowed DNI to bring greater focus and time to its community-building role.

track workflow, projects, grants, and construction."
