Web-based Project Collaboration

The Jones Payne Group Information Management Services and GIS Team recently implemented a web-based project collaboration system that coordinates the efforts of project management and production teams providing Residential Sound Insulation services for the Central Link Light Rail Segment in King County, WA.

Key components of the system included complete off-line functionality, Action Management, Contact Management and automated document workflow and output. The project included conducting a complete project survey and developing the collaborative web environment for Seattle Sound Transit and their project consultants. Work also included conducting onsite training and system support as well as creating system user manuals. The Jones Payne Noise Mitigation Group is responsible for managing the consultant team charged with completing the project.

Web Based Project Collaboration and Data Interoperability

The Jones Payne Group Information Management Services and GIS Team designed and implemented a web-based project team collaboration space that included custom data collection and analysis forms. This implementation was in partnership with the Jones Payne Noise Mitigation Group who was responsible for conducting on site surveys and reporting on the final data analysis. The project also required implementing a strategy to migrate the collected data into the client’s GIS portal website. The pace of the project at start-up was fast and as a result, the data requirements were constantly evolving. Data collection and analysis needed to happen quickly to allow the project to stay on track and remain organized. Work also included designing and implementing web services to allow the Airport’s Portal system to consume collected data.
