Churches
As part of our firm's goal to support livable communities, The Jones Payne Group provides the tools to translate your congregation's visions into reality. We speak the complex languages of liturgy, public process, architecture, construction, and information technology. We recognize that most pastors and congregations do not renovate, build or implement technology systems regularly, so we are dedicated to understanding your goals in order to achieve a successful project; and we provide the expertise, talent, tools and dedication to assist communities of faith with formulating and constructing their architectural vision. Our specialists have assisted ministries and parishes with the following services:
Liturgical Design
Our Architectural and Liturgical Design practice group provided graphic design services to the Archdiocese of Boston to contribute to the Art & Environment of the November 1999 Liturgical Congress.
Jones Payne provided facility assessment, design and oversight of a 2 phase construction project for the Most Precious Blood Parish in Dover, MA.
The Jones Payne Group was hired by the parish of St. Edward the Confessor of Medfield, MA to provide design alterations for a canopy for the front of their distinguished modern church. Working with their cost estimating consultant, we also provided cost scenarios to assist the Parish in long-term and short-term planning for interior renovations and system maintenance.
The Jones Payne Group was requested to provide interior design services for the Monastery of Saint Clare in Andover, MA after the shell of the building was constructed. A prominent request of the client was to reuse as much of their old furnishings as possible and minimize costs while creating a design worthy of their new space. Jones Payne designed a new altar and rear wall using the legs and fluted pilasters of the old chapel while incorporating a new oak cabinet to house the tabernacle and the monstrance for adoration.
The Jones Payne Group provided design and fabrication oversight services for the altar and ambo for the Archdiocese of Boston to be used at the 2002 annual convocation.
The Jones Payne Group provided design and construction administration to add handicapped accessible toilet facilities as well as building entrance modifications to St. Jerome’s Parish in Arlington, MA. As part of the renovations, a new Reconciliation Chapel was also included.
Custom Application Development for Missionary Services Planning
Our Information Management and Geospatial Services (IMgs) practice group staff developed a widely publicized GIS-based website for the Mission Aviation Fellowship’s Operation ACCESS! project.
The Mission Aviation Fellowship is a faith-based, non-profit ministry that consists of teams of aviation, communications and technology specialists who work to overcome barriers, transform lives, and enable the work of more than 600 organizations around the world. Their Operation ACCESS! project identified and surveyed 364 areas of the world where transportation, communications, and technology barriers prevent or impede people's access to faith based resources.
The Operation ACCESS! website integrates automated mapping capabilities with the MAF’s world-wide database of potential assistance areas. Our work involved coordinating with MAF staff to perform user requirements gathering, develop the application design, configure the new database system and server, and provide training. Work also included migrating MAF’s sector assessment database data and statistical tables from a MySQL database to Microsoft SQL Server 2000, and transferring their extensive GIS data files to ArcSDE for Microsoft SQL Server for use in the project website.
