Careers with The Jones Payne Group

Our Knowledge

We believe that the professional development of Jones Payne employees is an investment by Jones Payne in its future. We also believe that the professional development of Jones Payne employees is a shared responsibility and collaboration between an employee, his or her supervisor, and Jones Payne. To optimize current and future employee contributions, supervisors and managers are actively involved with their employees in developing their career plan. This involvement includes periodic assessments of each employee's knowledge, skills, abilities, and experiences. This assessment then leads to developmental planning for work assignments and training that promote Jones Payne’s and the employee's goals.

Leadership Models

The mission of our leadership model is to be visionary, strategic, proactive and process oriented. Most of the leadership training programs offered today attempt to help you discover the leadership style you exhibit and make you aware of its strengths and weaknesses.  At Jones Payne, we practice and grow a situational leadership style that is not dictated by the leadership skills of the manager. Situational leadership is more closely tied to using the style needed to be successful given the existing work environment being managed or the specific needs of the project.

Career Paths

At Jones Payne your career path is not a straight line, nor is it the same for everyone. While all our employee career paths have a starting point and have milestones along the way, each path leads employees towards what they need to know based on where they are in their career and where their interests lie. Along the way, you can go further along the path, retrace steps along the same path, or start down a new path if your interests change. Our four major careers paths include:

  • Architecture/Urban Planning
  • Project Management
  • Construction Administration
  • Information Management
Professional Organizations

Belonging to professional groups provides a community-based experience that will not only allow you to meet other professionals in the field, but also will open doors to future possibilities. Professional groups, committees, and service organizations, offer a "theory-in-practice" experience. Professional association membership gives you the opportunity to:

  • Network with potential clients
  • Develop your skills and experience by participating in association projects
  • Learn from mentors
  • Help develop industry standards
  • Meet other young professionals

Jones Payne sponsors and encourages our staff to obtain membership and participate in professional organizations which are directly related to the mission and values of the firm. Jones Payne believes that active involvement by the firm’s professionals in the professional groups, committees, and service organizations are of mutual benefit to the firm and to the individual.
