The Jones Payne Group is providing peace and quiet to residents in Seattle’s Rainier Valley.
Sound Transit, is providing Seattle residents an easier and more efficient access to downtown by building a 14 mile light rail system. Along with the benefits of the light rail system, residents of Seattle’s ethnically diverse Rainier Valley will also experience an increase in vehicular noise as the result of light rail relocating traffic closer to the homes.
To alleviate the nuisance for residents along the alignment, Sound Transit has turned to The Jones Payne Group to provide architectural, design and management services through the execution of their Residential Sound Insulation Program (RSIP).
Utilizing their innovative design process, The Jones Payne Group is working with 137 residences to provide a package of home improvements that not only reduces the intrusion of outside noise, but also improves the indoor air quality with the induction of fresh air, making the homes more comfortable and peaceful.
Program Manager, Jim Cornwell says “I find it very rewarding when a homeowner expresses their appreciation for the improvements to their living environment brought on by the sound insulation treatments.” Mr. Cornwell brings 20 years sound insulation experience to the project through his execution of SeaTac Airport’s Sound Insulation Program.

American Association of Airport Executives
www.airportnet.org
AAAE is the largest professional organization for airport executives in the world, representing thousands of airport management personnel at public use airports nationwide. The American Association of Airport Executives' primary goal is to assist airport executives in fulfilling their responsibilities to the airports and communities they serve.
AAAE membership is truly representative of airport management throughout the country. It places equal emphasis on large and small airport concerns, reflecting a membership comprised of executives from large and medium size airports, as well as hundreds of managers from smaller airports used exclusively by general aviation or commuter airlines.
AAAE was founded in 1928 to represent airport management throughout the United States. Each year since its founding, AAAE has held an annual meeting to bring airport managers together to discuss the latest problems and issues facing the industry. In 1954, the annual conference expanded to include exhibitors of airport services, products and equipment.
Since 1954, AAAE has sponsored a professional Accreditation Program for airport executives, who are affiliate members of AAAE. The professional membership requirements consist of an original management paper on some phase of airport management, a comprehensive written test and an oral examination on a level comparable to other professional certifications. Upon successful completion of these requirements, the Accredited Airport Executive is admitted to the membership as an executive member and may use the initials A.A.E. after his/her name.
AAAE has members at primary air carrier airports, which enplane 99% of the airline passengers across the nation, as well as at many of the smaller commercial service, reliever and general aviation airports.
Since its inception in 1928, AAAE has continued to move forward and grow, not only in size but in expertise. As the premier association of airport executives in the world, AAAE has a voice that is heard in the industry and in government-and that means strength for you, the professional airport executive.

National Organization to Insure a Sound-controlled Environment
http://www.aviation-noise.org
An affiliate of the National League of Cities, the National Organization to Insure a Sound-controlled Environment (NOISE) has served for over 30 years as America's oldest nation-wide, community based association composed of locally elected officials and other stakeholder organizations who represent thousands of constituents throughout the United States and are committed to reducing the impact of aviation noise on local communities.
NOISE serves to allow communities to join together and with a single voice inject the concerns of their constituents into the national debate on airport expansion policy, a debate which all too often is dominated by airports, airlines, and aircraft whose priorities may differ from a
community's. NOISE seeks to resolve noise concerns by bringing affected communities, local airport officials and federal policymakers together to work on airport expansion proposals responsibly and collaboratively. NOISE also advocates for federal policies to reduce unreasonable levels of aviation noise through a combination of quieter aircraft, increased noise abatement resources, and the opportunity for local communities to contribute to airport expansion decisions.
